On Safety

The On Safety blog has moved.

Notable/Quotable

January 23, 2014

Occasionally, someone says something about safety I find noteworthy. In today’s post, a West Virginia native sounds off about industrial safety in light of a devastating chemical release near Charleston, his city of birth.

“To hell with everyone whose only take-away from every story about every explosion, every leak, every mine collapse, is some vague and idiotic vanity in the continued endurance of West Virginians under adverse, sometimes killing circumstances.”

– Eric Waggoner, teacher and writer, writing on his blog about the Jan. 9 Freedom Industries chemical release that injured more than 100 people
